multiform. all these problems.

and meeting these things —

it’s like meeting a dark foreboding stranger

on the darkest edge of town,

and the face he wears is your own.

we have met the enemy, and he is us.

and so what do you do, when surrounded

by problems, when surrounded by a storm of troubles?

why, you send up a flare.

a flare, a hope, a beacon, a prayer —

all the time hoping that somebody, somewhere cares.
